35. Is There Any Way I Can Ban Receiving Large Files?

Stop downloading large messages (Outlook)

There’s nothing worse when you’re travelling with laptop in hand (and no broadband available)
than waiting and paying for unnecessary large file downloads. I’ll never forget the time I was in
Borneo. Half an hour and $75 later, the huge download was an unasked for, unwanted
attachment with a 2 meg picture.

How you prevent large messages from downloading to your Inbox

1. On the Tools menu, point to Send/Receive, point to Send/Receive Settings, and
then click Define Send/Receive Groups.
2. In the list, click the group that includes the account you want, and then click Edit.
3. Under Accounts, click the account you want.
4. Select Edit
5. Type in your size limit.

Bonus: If you want more specific information – what to do if you’re part of a large network or
use Hotmail – Go to your Help menu and type ‘Stop downloading large messages’.
