46. What Are Search Folders? (Office 2003/7)
Virtual folders
Once you have set your criteria, search folders virtually – not physically - gathers all the emails
from all your different folders (including deleted and sent items) for your viewing pleasure. Your
emails are not physically moved into search folders, but you can work with them. Unlike a
temporary search or find, these are permanent and expand/contract with time. They’re in Your
folder list (under Tasks).
Different groupings
You might not think Search Folders are particularly exciting, but think how useful it is to be ableto see different groupings of your emails without changing your folder organisation of them.
To create a Search Folder, simply right click the Search Folder itself and make your selection.
